ASU Human Performance Lab in Kannapolis
In addition to research with other NCRC partners, the ASU/NCRC Human Performance Lab works with everyone from major NASCAR teams to local residents, helping measure fitness levels and provide strategies for improving personal fitness.
UNC Nutrition Research Institute in Kannapolis: “Feeding Brains”
Carol Cheatham, Ph.D. specializes in the effects of nutrition on pediatric brain development. Dr. Cheatham and her team at the UNC Nutrition Research Institute in Kannapolis are working to discover how certain nutrients affect the development of infants, toddlers, and children. Specifically, she is interested in the development of memory and attention as they are the basis for learning and thus, school readiness.
